This section is dedicated to take away all your "I wish someone had told me that before I went!" experiences. This way, you can spend less time settling in, and more time making new friends in your chosen hostel. We share our insider knowledge of tips, tricks and important things to look out for in Invermere.
Invermere is a small town located on the banks of Lake Windermere in the Columbia Valley, British Columbia. Although it's only a small town, there is a wide range of dining on offer as well as many fast food outlets plus supermarkets and shopping, and is a a place where you will find a hostel. The town also has a small cinema and a couple of museums, but the real draw is the amazing range of activities in the surrounding area on offer all year round.
In winter, you have several ski areas close by, including Panorama Resort to the west, which also has a free shuttle service from the town, as well as Fairmont Hot Springs Ski Resort to the south, where you can enjoy skiing and take a dip in the hot springs in the same place. During summer, there are endless hiking and biking trails in the Kootenays and at Panorama, you can also enjoy white-water rafting and golfing as well as many other outdoor activities. Invermere is also only sixteen kilometers away from Radium Hot Springs, another great place to take a dip in any season.
As this is a small town, your options for Invermere hostels are limited, but you will be located just a few blocks from the main town, where most of the restaurants and shopping are located. It is also close to the Panorama bus stop and just a few minutes from the James Chabot Provincial Park, a great place to relax on the beach and cool off during the summer heat. Invermere is a great town surrounded by panoramic views that few places can beat.
