In winter, the village is covered by snow and the mountain becomes a great place for winter activities. As it's the third-largest ski area in British Columbia, you have more than one hundred thirty ski runs of all different abilities to choose from across a resort that is typically fairly quiet except for the holidays. Your ski pass also gives you free access to other fun activities including cross country skiing, snow shoeing, tubing, ice skating, and fat biking. This means you can hit the slopes during the day and then have fun ice skating and tubing in the evening all with one ticket. Summer is a great time to head to Silver Star to see the alpine landscape come alive. Between June and September the lifts open to provide easy access to more than fifty kilometers of downhill and cross country bike trails and sixteen kilometers of hiking trails.

Silver Star is a well-equipped mountain village, so you can get all of your basic necessities in the resort. And if not, then you can find it in the city of Vernon nearby. The restaurant and bar scene is great, with a variety of options for any budget. You can even check out the Bulldog Cafe, which is an extension of the famous original in Amsterdam. Live music and theme nights happen regularly in the different establishments so you can always find something fun to do. Getting around the village is easy on foot, or if you need to get somewhere further away there is a free shuttle around the resort.
