This section is dedicated to take away all your "I wish someone had told me that before I went!" experiences. This way, you can spend less time settling in, and more time making new friends in your chosen hostel. We share our insider knowledge of tips, tricks and important things to look out for in Souris.
Souris, located on the eastern shore of Prince Edward Island, is a popular place to visit, especially during the summer months when there are an abundance of festivals, some of them very popular music festivals, and other events. Of the most popular things to do in Souris is to visit some of the local arts and crafts stores; there are distilleries in the area with local brews for those that are lovers of beer. You might also like to spend a lazy day at the red-sand beach here, as it is located right on the water.
Given that Souris is located right on the Confederation Trail drive, it is abundant with all of the different amenities that you might need around the island such as banks, fuel, and food and liquor stores. Souris is also home to the Iles de la Madeline ferry, which can take you over to one of the most popular islands to visit off the coast of Quebec.
Hostels in Souris are located quite central to the region. They are close to the amenities, however it is quite useful to have a car if you are visiting this area. Getting around Prince Edward Island to the different tourist attractions can be quite difficult otherwise and given the scattered nature of the amenities, it is also more convenient to run errands. When planning your visit to Prince Edward Island, ensure that you check when the tourist season is, as businesses, including local cafes, start to close down at the end of the summer when school goes back and nothing much is open to visit. The best time to travel here is at the height of summer.
