This way, you can spend less time settling in, and more time making new friends in your chosen hostel. We share our insider knowledge of tips, tricks and important things to look out for in Wuxi.

Wuxi, China, belongs to the Jiangsu province on the east coast of China. The local economy is very strong and prosperous. The province is leading in the sectors of finance, tourism, education, and technologies in China. Around six-and-a-half million people live in the city and the population has increased signifcantly over the last decade. The city of Wuxi used to be an important commercial centre in China. Nowadays, the economic importance for the whole country has decreased due to numerous booming industrial cities such as Yangzhou. However, Wuxi is a popular tourist destination, thanks to its excellent location and rich history. The city is well known for its numerous beautiful gardens.

The famous Taihu Lake -- the second-biggest freshwater lake in China -- is one of the major tourist attractions. The area around the lake is perfect to stroll and to get away from the hustle and bustle of the nearby industrial cities. One of the most beautfiul spots by the lake is Turtle Head Isle. It is very suitable to take scenic pictures and to try out tasty local food. Do not miss out on visiting the famous Giant Buddha at Lingshan; the so-called Oriental Giant Buddha is the tallest Buddha statue in China. Tha buddha stands for blessings and happiness. The Vatican Palace is a worth-seeing complex serving as a conference centre. Inside, you can take a look at beautiful mural paintings by national and international artists.

Numerous hotels and guesthouses welcome tourists in Wuxi. The accommodations are spread in the centre or located nearby the lake. Backpacking is not very common, so the supply of hostels in Wuxi, China, is low (however, the quality and the facilities at your Wuxi, China hostel are good). If you want to have more options, check out Suzhou. There, you can find many more hostels and hotels of every kind.
