This way, you can spend less time settling in, and more time making new friends in your chosen hostel. We share our insider knowledge of tips, tricks and important things to look out for in Yangshuo.
Yangshuo is a beautiful city in Guangxi province in the southern area of China. Yangshuo is already a very touristic place, so you will not have so many problems with the language -- a lot of people are English speakers. This city is well known for its amazing places and natural beauty, busy nightlife, amazing cuisine (including the famous marshmallow lattes), and a lot more. The best way to arrive in this city is by bus from Guilin (only about fifty kilometers' distance) –- Guilin has good train and bus transport connections to the main cities in China. If you have time, you should also take a few days to visit Guilin, with its amazing scenery.
During your stay in Yangshuo, you don't want to miss the chance to visit Bilian Peak (you can climb it in thirty minutes, and the reward is enjoying the amazing landscapes of Xi Jie and Li River, from another perspective), and take a walk in Yangshuo Park and Dragon Head Hill. Besides that, Yangshuo is also a very good place to do some sports like rock climbing (it's one of the best places in China), kayaking, and tai chi. Another popular activity in this city is balloon trips -– it's a little bit more expensive compared to the other ones, but it's amazing). You can easily arrange this activity in most accommodations or in tour agencies. At dusk, after a long day, you should take a walk in Xi Jie (the heart of the city), where you will find all the restaurants, cafes, shops, accommodations, and bars.
There are a lot of hostels in Yangshuo for a good price, with the average facilities in China. In most Yangshuo hostels, you can get some help organizing the rest of your journey and meet nice people.
