Lockheart Castle is a sight that you would not expect in the rural part of the rural Gunma Prefecture. It is the first restored European castle in Japan. Originally, it was built in the early nineteenth century in Scotland. In the eighties, the whole castle was transported from Scotland to Japan. After some restorations, it was restored as first European castle in Japan in the nineties. For Europeans, it is rather strange to see this architecture in Japan, but it is a unique experience traveling around the country.
