Looking for budget stays in Prizren? This section is designed to save you time, money, and unnecessary stress. We've got insider tips to help you find affordable hostels and the cheapest places to stay in Prizren.
Prizren, Kosovo, is notably the most beautiful and cultural of the cities in Kosovo. It has a stunning river that runs through the central part of the city, lined with beautiful bridges, mosques, and restaurants. In the heart of the downtown is where you will find a tourist information map at the info centre, which will link you to all of the important (and numerous) historical locations scattered around the city. You shouldn't need any more than a day or two here to get around everything to see, as it really isn't that large a city.
Most of the Prizren, Kosovo hostels are located in this downtown region, so getting to around the town from the is easy. You will find everything you need within a walking distance from the hostel. The bus station is a little bit further out and is located about a thirty-minute walk from this centre region and is easy enough to get to if you follow the main road down walking. Otherwise, you should be able to get a taxi.
During August, Prizren is famous in this region for its documentary film festival, Dokufest. They take real pride in this festival and the local people get really excited about it. The films are also quite interesting. If you have time to coincide your trip with Dokufest, do so, but make sure you book your Prizren, Kosovo hostel early, as people flock here from all over and the city comes alive. There are tents and heaps of information on the films in the tents scattered around and the helpers all speak English. Many of the films are also in English.
Another must-do during your time in Prizren is to walk up to the top of the hill with the castle and watch the sunset over the city. It really is a stunning view.
