Looking for budget stays in Bovec? This section is designed to save you time, money, and unnecessary stress. We've got insider tips to help you find affordable hostels and the cheapest places to stay in Bovec.
The northwest Slovenian city of Bovec lies in the heart of Triglav National Park and recently was declared one of the European Destinations of Excellence winners. Often referred to as a paradise for relaxation and active vacations, the city is most frequently visited by hikers and sports enthusiasts, but if you just love the nature a little bit and appreciate a break from the noisy cities, you will undoubtedly have a good time there as well.
Besides the enormous selection of sports activities, which include everything from rafting to golfing, the municipality of Bovec is also home to plenty of natural sights. Since the town stretches along the magnificent River Soča, the source of the river, located in the Trenta Valley, is one of the most beloved destinations around there. In case you love waterfalls you should definitely not miss Boka and The Virje waterfalls, which can be found a little outside of the city, and if you enjoy lakes you might want to pay a visit to Krnsko Jezero Lake -– the largest Slovenian mountain lake. From Bovec through Zadnjica Valley you can even hike up to the Slovenia's highest mountain, Triglav; since this trail is not considered one of the easiest, hiring a guide is recommended. As if all this weren't enough, the surroundings of Bovec offer numerous caves and cave systems, including the tenth-deepest cave in the world (called Čehi 2).
There are, of course, a lot of other attractions, including the Water hurst of Šunik, Kluže Fortress, and Zip Line Park, just to name a few, so the best idea is to stay for at least a couple of days. Bovec hostel options are somewhat limited, but there are some interesting alternative budget accommodations that are worth checking out. Book your stay in advance if you wish to stay during high season.
