This section is dedicated to take away all your "I wish someone had told me that before I went!" experiences. This way, you can spend less time settling in, and more time making new friends in your chosen hostel. We share our insider knowledge of tips, tricks and important things to look out for in Bodrum.
Bodrum is located in the southwest of Turkey, on a peninsula of the same name. It is a place that never sleeps, where the sun is always shining, and where you are guaranteed an amazing time no matter what type of holiday you have in mind for yourself.
As the city is spread out along the coast and has a vast amount of beautiful, sandy beaches with beautiful turquoise waters, it is just ideal for a beach holiday. You can just spend the day relaxing and sunbathing, but those who prefer to keep active won't be disappointed either. With everything revolving around tourism here, you can enjoy a wide range of seaside activities during the day, such as parasailing, water skiing, banana riding, jet skiing, or one of the day cruises that will take you to nearby islands, caves, and to perfect swimming and snorkeling spots along the shore. There is a water park nearby too, which is also worth a day trip. Moreover, during the night, you can still enjoy the beach that turns into an atmospheric dining area with elegant restaurants having their tables on the sand. The city offers a nice Turkish-style market area, as well as a beautiful promenade along the busy harbour.
However, if you are more into sightseeing, the place will suit you just as well. With a beautiful vast medieval castle that gives a unique character to the city, the Mausoleum of Mausolus that is listed as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and a series of ancient monuments, you are guaranteed to be impressed. Plus, the Underwater Archaeology Museum hosts several festivals throughout the year.
Best of all, the city is served by its own airport making it easy to get to your Bodrum hostel from within Turkey as well as from abroad.
