This section is dedicated to take away all your "I wish someone had told me that before I went!" experiences. This way, you can spend less time settling in, and more time making new friends in your chosen hostel. We share our insider knowledge of tips, tricks and important things to look out for in Nha Trang.
Nha Trang is a lovely city in the end of the Vietnamese coast with many hostels, and it is a must see! Unfortunately some travelers prefer to go to Da Lat and miss Nha Trang -- don't do that! Sometimes Nha Trang is compared to a smaller Da Nang with lots of commerce and a lot of beautiful beaches, most of them in the islands nearby. Surrounded by mountains and a long and amazing beach bay with a view to the islands, the main attraction is a tour of these islands.
There are a lot of boat trips for a day for really cheap prices. After this, enjoy the city with some cocktails near the beach, mud baths, or just hanging around as there are a few historic sites worth a visit. Nha Trang is also a good place for scuba-diving fans or someone who wants to get an introduction to this hobby. If you want to enjoy some typical Vietnamese food, this is the best place to try bird's nest soup.
There are a lot of hostels in Nha Trang. The cheaper ones will be more far away from the beach and the city center, but never more than twenty minutes' walking. As this is a city with a lot of tourists, you can expect reasonable-to-good conditions in most of Nha Trang's hostels. The friendly staff won't have many problems in communicating with English and sometimes French speakers.
